My Literal Running Playlist
64Run, run, run
Distance running is painful. I, and many other runners, need to be constantly distracted during my long training runs, and the easiest way to be distracted is by listening to music. There are so many amazing songs to run to and pump you up out there, but I have found that my favorites nearly always include lyrics that can be taken as a literal reference to running. Here is my literal running playlist. Even if you are not a runner, you may find my song choices entertaining on their own. The styles are VERY eclectic.
Dog Days are Over: Florence + The Machine
I Run to You: Lady Antebellum
Run to You: Bryan Adams
Run Like Hell: Pink Floyd
I’m in a Hurry: Alabama
Pumped Up Kicks: Foster the People
Going the Distance: Cake
(I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles: The Proclaimers
Ease On Down the Road: Michael Jackson
Ready to Run: Dixie Chicks
Where the Streets Have No Name: U2
Born to Run: Bruce Springsteen
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough: Michael Jackson (Lifesaver at my First Half)
Keep On Running: Journey
A Good Day to Run: Darryl Worley
I Run for Life: Melissa Etheridge (Makes me tear up)
Till I Collapse: Eminem feat. Nate Dogg
Just Dance: Lady Gaga (Loose connection, but I replace the word 'Dance' with 'Run.' It works.)
Run This Town: Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West
The Climb: Miley Cyrus (Don’t Judge)
Move B*tch: Ludacris (A little self-deprecating, but it works)
Creepin’ In: Norah Jones & Dolly Parton (Love me some Dolly)
Don’t Let Me Fall: B.o.B.
Heart of a Champion: Nelly feat. Lincoln University Vocal Ensemble
Dare You to Move: Switchfoot
Hope you enjoy this and please feel free to leave more songs with running references, I'm always looking for new music to add!

Love this! I also have a very eclectic taste in music. "Dog Days are Over" and "Pumped Up Kicks" are really popular running songs right now because they work so well. Happy running!
